Proposed events planned for 2010
Following extract taken from Issue 13 June 2010 ENGLAND SQUASH & RACKETBALL NETWORK TEAM MONTHLY UPDATE:
Major fundraising event is planned at Pontefract Squash Club the home of James Willstrop, World No. 6; http://www.pontesquash.com/Squash for World Deaf Squash Championships. Pontefract Squash club are holding a squash doubles competition in September (2-4th). This is an annual event in memory of Lesley Willstrop and the chosen charity is to be the English Deaf squash team. In previous years the event has raised up to £7,000. The money raised will help to finance the costs of sending the team to the World championships. This event is being held in Palerston North, New Zealand on the 4 – 10 October 2010. It is hoped that a number of world class players, some deaf elite players and others will compete. In addition to the entry fees there will be a charity auction on the finals evening, when some excellent items will be auctioned. These include flights, accommodation and tickets for the US Open Squash championships in Chicago.
